Experience and achievements
How experience levels, achievements and the First Steps list reward the way you play.
Three systems reward progress rather than resources. Each runs only where the universe switches it on.
Experience
Experience grows on two tracks, and every level needs more of it than the last.
- Peaceful levels add 1% production and energy each.
- Combat levels add 1% attack, armour and shield each.
What pays experience in this universe:
- battles: one point for every 1,000 resources of enemy units destroyed, up to 500 per battle;
- espionage reports: 2 each, up to 40 a day;
- recycling: one point for every 10,000 resources recycled, up to 300 a day;
- playing: 5 for every 15 minutes online, up to 120 a day.
Levels count in the Permanent bucket (How bonuses combine).
Achievements
Achievements count what you do, from buildings and research to battles and expeditions, and pay a reward for every tier you reach. Claim them on the Achievements page.
First Steps
The First Steps list walks a new player through 11 stages of the early game, one goal at a time, each with a reward when you claim it.
Questions
Do experience levels ever go down?
No. Experience only grows, and every level you reach keeps its bonus.
What is the best way to level up?
Play the way you like: peaceful experience comes from building up your empire, combat experience from fighting.
